JIRIBAM - TUPUL - IMPHAL NEW RAIL LINE PROJECT
THIS PROJECT IS A NATIONAL PROJECT AND ITS WORK STARTED FROM 2008, the Manipur Railway Project is divided into 2 phases JIRIBAM TO TUPUL, TUPUL TO IMPHAL..
The Sections having total 46tunnels Between JIRIBAM And IMPHAL. There are as many as 151 Bridges in this section. OUT of which the number of major bridges are 22 and minor bridges 129.
THE section having total Railway station is 10. And, from JIRIBAM TO TUPUL SECTION HAVING TOTAL TUNNEL OF 37, And from TUPUL TO IMPHAL SECTION HAVING TOTAL TUNNEL OF 9, the grand total of whole tunnel is 46.
THE NUMBER RAILWAY STATIONS ARE:- 1) JIRIBAM
2) DHOLKHAL
3) KAIMAI ROAD
4) HAIPO JADONANG -
(KAMBIRON)
5) THINGOU
6) KHONGSANG
7) NONEY
8) TUPUL
9) HAOCHANG ROAD
After Completion of this project, Trains on this line will run at an 100kmph Speed. The target date for completion of this project is 2022 March.
The construction of Tunnels is very hard for the Engineers due to its geology and Heavy showering. The (NATM) process is used to construct the Tunnels means The NEW AUSTRIAN TUNNELING METHOD.
- IN FUTURE, there is a planning to connect upto MOREH in Manipur with railway lines.
